38.21 - And has there come to you the news of the contenders, when they climbed the wall of the sanctuary? 38.22 - When they entered upon Dawood, so he was frightened by them; they said: Fear not; (we are) two contenders, one has transgressed against the other, so judge between us with truth and do not exceed the limits and guide us to the even path. 38.23 - Indeed, this is my brother who has ninety-nine ewes, and for me is a single ewe; so he said: Entrust her to me, and he overpowered me in speech. 38.24 - He (Dawood) said: He has certainly done injustice to you by asking your ewe to his ewes. And indeed, most of those who mix together transgress against one another, except those who have believed and done good deeds, and few are they. And Dawood thought that We had tried him, so he sought the forgiveness of his Lord and fell down bowing and turned (to Allah). 38.25 - So We forgave him that; and indeed, for him will be nearness to Us and an excellent return. 38.26 - O Dawood! Indeed, We have made you a successor in the land; so judge between the people with the truth and do not follow (your) desire, lest it misguides you from the way of Allah. Indeed, those who are misguided from the way of Allah, for them will be a severe torture because they forgot the day of reckoning. 38.27 - And We did not create the heaven and the earth and what is between them in falsehood; that is the thoughts of those who have disbelieved. So woe to those who have disbelieved from the fire. 38.28 - Or should We make those who have believed and done good deeds like the mischief-makers in the land? Or should We make those who fear like the wicked? 38.29 - A book which We have sent down to you, blessed so that they might ponder over its signs and that those who possess minds remember. 38.30 - And to Dawood We gave, Solaiman. Excellent was the servant; indeed, he was (always) returning (to Allah).
